AGED CARE

What is Aged Care Advice?

In Australia, aged care financial advice involves specialised guidance to help individuals and families manage the costs associated with aged care. Here are some key components:

  1. Means Testing: Understanding how your income and assets affect your eligibility for government subsidies and support
  2. Accommodation Costs: Planning for the costs of different types of aged care accommodation, such as residential aged care facilities
  3. Asset and Income Management: Managing your assets and income to ensure you can cover aged care expenses while maximizing benefits from pensions and other income sources
  4. Government Subsidies: Navigating government programs like the Commonwealth Home Support Programme and residential care subsidies to reduce out-of-pocket expenses
  5. Taxation and Legal Advice: Getting advice on the tax implications of aged care costs and setting up legal frameworks like power of attorney and guardianship
  6. Family Finances: Coordinating with family members to ensure a comprehensive financial plan that considers everyone's needs and contributions

Starting this planning process early can help reduce stress and ensure a smoother transition into aged care. If you have specific questions or need more detailed information, please call our office 02 6980 9000 to make an appointment with Dee Goesch.
